Pawl receives Notre Dame dissertation fellowship

Congrats to our own Tim Pawl for being awarded The Center for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Notre Dame's Graduate Fellowship awarded to a graduate student in philosophy who is working on a dissertation in the philosophy of religion

Tim joins the ranks of such Prosblogion notables as Kevin Timpe (2003-2004 recipient).

Trivia: Yet another SLU grad--Jason Eberl--recieved it the previous year. My friend and sometime swim-budy Marcin Iwanicki (University of Lublin, Poland, now ND) got it the year before that. Erik J. Wielenberg of DePauw, who's got a *great* book forthcoming on C.S. Lewis, Hume, and Russell, received it in the late 90's.

This is great news for Tim and for ND. As Trent mentioned, I spent a year at the CPR and it was in many ways one of the best experiences of my philosophical career. The ND faculty are not only phenomenal but incredibly helpful; and I made life-long friends and conversation partners with the other fellows who were there the same year. I'd encourage those PBers that are grad students or junior folks to apply in the future.

And way to go Tim!

Congratulations Tim!

Congratulations, Tim!

My old youth pastor (Myron Penner) received this fellowship in 2004-2005, and when I had the chance to visit him at Notre Dame, he spoke very highly of this award. I hope it proves to be as rewarding for you as it was for him.

Congratulations, Tim!

Thanks guys. I've accepted the offer, and Faith and I will be at ND next year! We're both really excited about being back there (we both studied there in the past). Next year should be very good for both of us.

All the best,
Tim
