Draper to Purdue

Paul Draper, who specialized in philosophy of religion and philosophy of science at Florida International University, has accepted a senior appointment in the Department of Philosophy at Purdue University. This appointment fills the vacancy left by William Rowe's recent retirement. Draper will be joining familiar names such as Michael Bergmann, Jeffrey Brower, Daniel Frank, an emeritus William Rowe, and fellow traveler Jan Cover, giving Purdue one of the highest concentrations of faculty working in philosophy of religion.

Draper is the perfect person to follow Rowe. Those two are my standard examples of intelligent, informed, non-theists without and agenda. They are what makes the problem of Divine Hiddenness have its teeth.

I agree! I've read about five of Draper's essays and they've all been first rate. For those not familiar with his work I'd recommend both "Seeking But Not Believing" in Divine Hiddenness and "The Skeptical Theist" in The Evidential Argument from Evil. Now, if only Purdue could work out its financial situation so that they can fund a few more graduate students each year.
